The hotel is located at the feet of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range, at the top of Hanbi Peninsula. It stands at the north end of Sun Mook Lake, overlooking the lake with outstanding panoramic views.The business hotel was once the favourite summer getaway for President Chiang Kai Shek and dates back to 1901. Its recent renovation work and additions by Kerry Hill Architects have resurrected the property to a new international level of high-end standards, a first for this part of the world. The air-conditioned hotel offers a lobby with lift access to the upper floors, a breakfast/dining room, a laundry service (fees apply) and a car park (fees apply).The hotel invites guests to experience an all-suite lifestyle concept including seven private villas with individual swimming pools, courtyards and pavilions. All suites have a commanding view of the lake and some come with fireplaces. Each suite features an en suite bathroom with shower, a double bed, Internet access, and tea and coffee making facilities.The spa comes with an extensive range of organic treatments to sooth both the body and the mind. For the more active, there is a 60-metre swimming pool and a well-equipped gym (fees apply to the latter).The hotel has 4 food and beverage outlets, including The Oriental Brasserie, catering to Western and Asian palates, a world-class Japanese restaurant, a traditional Chinese tea house and the Lobby Bar and Lounge. Breakfast is served each morning and guests can select their lunch and dinner from the set menu.
